Free to play, pay to win, DLCs, amiibo: What’s next?
Today the video game industry have misleading Free to play , the unfortunate Pay to win , the ¿needed? DLCs and now amiibo. We recently published news about Sonic Runners and Pokémon Shuffle , where it is noted that the Titles are handled through micro transactions.
It is unfortunate that the new generation of players can not make a title at 100%, must now turn to some of the modalities mentioned. Although the truth that had already been coming for decades.
For example, the February 2, 1994 public Sega Sonic the Hedgehog 3 which is a great title but which is very short and this is due to the weather won the developer team (Sonic Team) from the solution ?, Game Two, the title was Sonic & Knuckles which came out October 18, 1994, the novelty of the latter was incorporating a new technology called (Lock-On) where one could assemble (through a slot) Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic & Knuckles to become Sonic 3 & Knuckles , to use the game was longer, you could use Knuckles as a character, different extras were added and if combined with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog (1) one could enable many new options to enjoy these titles, do they sound like ?, Now back to today.
Being honest with DLCs who declined see how and what were the reasons for Gabriel Belmont became Dracula in Castlevania – Lords of Shadow , expanding the story of The Last of Us , have more challenges in different deliveries ofResident Evil , more characters, settings and costumes for our favorite fighters in Injustice – Gods Among Us, Street Fighter , Soul CaliburDead or Alive , more items, weapons and exclusive content in our favorite FPS.
The Free to play as an idea is very good, but to play them we realize very quickly that if we enjoy as it should be paid in Dead or Alive will give us a couple of characters and minimized options, simply watch them online store to see all that you can buy, is enough money, go Tecmo knows doing business.
The clearest example at this time of Pay to win is Candy Crush Saga is a game with some degree of challenge and rewards you, but when you get into it, you realize it’s a game where you can (or should) spend too much money, did it?
Of the amiibo is one of Nintendo’s proposals to expand their businesses, we know that we use to add characters, bonuses, special items, etc. There are many different characters and there are limited versions, insomuch that there grabbers figures (for collection), the picture is very encouraging for the developer Mario house.
Ultimately all these modalities have been accepted by both the public and especially of companies that have driven since it is an option to generate extra income and is likely to later know other modalities.
Do not forget that the game industry is big business, what experiences have you had with these rules?
